    Trained to serve as interviewer for families with children enrolled in Tribal Head Start Program(s) in Eugene, Salem, Portland and Siletz.  Extreme attention to confidentiality due to sensitive nature of data collected.  Responsible for recording and conveying data, in a timely and accurate manner.  Requiring travel as necessary to Head Start program sites as necessary. 
     

  •  Siletz Tribal Alcohol & Drug Program - Prevention Program Coord. – Certified Prevention Specialist 541-444-8286  Served as board member for Crossroads (Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Program) Lincoln County Community Non-Violence Program (LCCNP) for 2 years.  Develop program policies and procedures, meet, collaborate and coordinate services with local prevention groups, school district staff, tribal program staff and youth representatives, to provide community education and increase awareness and knowledge of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and the impact on community and self.  Community planning, including individual and family interviews, intake and referrals.  Plus 3 months temporary employment -  staff person for Siletz Tribal Youth Center.
     

  • 5/99-1/00:  University of Arizona, Prevention Office- Ten Tribes Interviewer  (602) 642-5601 Worked as supervisor, site manager and interviewer for "Ten Tribes Project".  The interview process required intensive question and answer sessions with adult Tribal members, duration 3-5 hours.  Study was conducted to determine trauma due to tribal oppression, abuse, loss of culture for tribal people and to document the inter-relation of alcohol and drug abuse.  Address:    1700 W.   • ONABEN - Siletz Tribal Business Information Center - Business Counselor   800-922-1399 Assist clients to acquire knowledge to successfully start and operate business, and secure funding.  Instruction and training in computer and internet skills.  Draft/submit monthly articles to Siletz Newspaper.  Compliance with CTSI program/client confidentiality.
     

  • Siletz Tribe - Alcohol and Drug Program - Wilderness Program Assistant  800-600-5599 Client crisis intervention, individual and group counseling.  Client record management and transporting.  Wilderness staff for A&D Treatment. Purchase, inventory and cleaning of expedition gear and supplies.  Certification as Wilderness Outdoor First Emergency Responder (WOFER). Attendance at community talking circles and sweatlodge ceremonies. Network with tribal, intra-agency staff and community members to implement prevention strategies for at risk youth and adults.

  • Siletz River Farms - Craft Coordinator:  Assist with starting of wild crafting enterprise.  Coordinated piecework to create inventory for product.  Train & supervise crafters to create holiday decorations and gift packs using local flora and fauna.  Conducted employee orientation, purchase supplies, develop new prototypes and tracking expenditures.  Position funding/grant expired.
     

  • Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs - Siletz Agency Staff Support Clerk/Tribal Government Services Clerk/Administrative Assistant.  Clerical assistant, promoted to Tribal Government Services for exceptional service on 2 special enrollment projects.  Administrative assistant to Personnel/loan officer, responisble for employee orientations and personnel actions.  Performed intake for loan clients and notary public for trust deed and legal documents.
     

  • Siletz Tribe (2/87 to 5/90) - Receptionist/Payroll Clerk Central office receptionist, answer phones, refer public to appropriate tribal or local agency for services. Typing and filing.  Promoted to payroll clerk for 70+ employees.
